I am an anthropologist and historian specialized in the study of food and wine. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, I lived, studied, traveled and worked in Europe and the United States for most of my adult life. In 2006, I completed my doctorate in Anthropology at the Università delgi Studi di Torino. From 2007-2008 I was a post-doctoral fellow at the Università di Scienze Gastronomiche in Italy. In 2009, I came home to Canada and was a lecturer in Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. From 2010-2014, I ran the Gastronomy Program at Boston University. In 2014-2015, I was a fellow at the Collegium de Lyon, where I did research on the cuisine des mères lyonnaises and women who cook professionally in France. Fall 2015, I will be joining the Anthropology Department at Connecticut College.
